STAFF TEAM

Management Committee

  • Hi, I’m Tamar Huxford, Headteacher at Broomhouse Primary School and a delighted new member of The BIG Project’s Management Committee.

Having worked within the Broomhouse community as a class teacher before rejoining as the Head Teacher in 2025, I have seen first hand the impact that the BIG project have on the children within our community for years. I, just like the BIG Project team, am passionate about nurturing each child’s curiosity, creativity, confidence, and resilience and know how important wider achievement is in fostering these qualities.

Therefore, I’m excited to work alongside The BIG Project’s fantastic team of staff, volunteers, and families to enrich our programmes and extend our impact. Together, we’ll continue to create a vibrant, supportive environment where every child can shine.

  • I have lived in Broomhouse all of my life and attended the BIG Project as a child and wanted to give back to this organisation which had such a positive impact on my life.

  • I have been supporting the big project since the summer of 2020 then formally joined the board in Nov 21. In my NHS career I have always worked with children and their families, initially as a Speech Therapist and now in my Partnership role across both Children’s and Women’s services.

It is great to share and be part of a project that gives so much to the children of the local community

  • I became part of the Broomhouse Community over 21 years ago when I joined Broomhouse Primary School as a class teacher. I have been the Depute Head at Broomhouse Primary for the last 6 years. During this time, I have seen the area develop and grow and now have children that I taught as a teacher bringing their children here.

I have been a member of the BIG Project Management Committee since 2017, have seen the impact that the BIG Project has had on our community, and appreciate the support they provide for the families. That is why I am pleased to be part of BIG Project and the Broomhouse Community.
